Our Mission

Lubbock Mayor’s Fitness Council in collaboration with TTUHSC Healthy Lubbock

Active living and healthy eating are two examples of healthy behaviors. In Lubbock, Texas, community residents have access to over 50 parks with walking trails and several farmer’s markets. Yet, many residents are not aware of these healthy opportunities. As a result, Healthy Lubbock, a program of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Garrison Institute on Aging, and the City of Lubbock are collaborating to establish the Lubbock Mayor’s Fitness Council (MFC). Mayor Pope and TTUHSC President Mitchell are making Lubbock’s health and wellness a priority.
